洋基隊日籍投手田中將大台北時間4日對光芒隊先發，投6局失3分，幸好Mark Teixeira在8局下轟3分彈（本季第20轟），讓田中將大解套。此戰經過4個半小時的惡戰，洋基延長賽12局下靠著Brian McCann的3分再見彈（本季第13轟），7比5氣走光芒。

此戰之前，田中將大近2戰先發，投10局被轟了6支全壘打，失13分、11分責失，表現不理想。

今天，田中將大1局上就被光芒隊Grady Sizemore、Evan Longoria連敲安打，加上James Loney的高飛犧牲打，失掉2分，幸好他很快穩定下來，直到5局上Kevin Kiermaier先敲三壘打，René Rivera的高飛犧牲打，才失掉第3分。

田中將大先發6局被擊出6支安打失3分，三振5次、保送1次，雖是優質先發的內容，但洋基打擊群遭光芒先發投手Chris Archer的封鎖，前7局只敲出3支安打，Archer投6.2局沒失分退場，洋基才等到反攻的機會。

光芒8局下換Kevin Jepsen上場後援，Chase Headley、álex Rodríguez連敲安打，Mark Teixeira一棒轟出3分彈，3比3追平，田中將大解套，本季戰績仍是4勝3敗。
